Malaysia has moved up eight places to rank 15th in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2026, according to a report cited by Sin Chew Daily.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the improvement reflects the government efforts to strengthen efficiency, improve execution and advance economic reforms.
He also linked the stronger performance to political stability and growing investor confidence in Malaysia economic direction.
The higher ranking is a positive signal for the country, though sustaining the momentum will depend on consistent reforms and practical improvements to the business environment.
